Kitchen Sink Cleared, Done Right The First Time

Professional kitchen drain cleaning across Jacksonville, Onslow County, and the surrounding areas. Grease, food waste, garbage disposal backups, slow sinks. Diagnostic-first approach.

It's Rarely Just "A Clog"

Kitchen sink clogs don’t usually happen all at once. They build up over time from everyday use, as grease, food particles, soap, and residue slowly coat the inside of the drain line until water can’t move the way it should. What starts as a slow drain can turn into standing water, bad odors, or a complete blockage right when you need your sink the most.

At Ellis Elite Plumbing & Drains LLC, we approach kitchen sink lines with the understanding that the issue is rarely just “a clog.” Most of the time, it’s buildup that has narrowed the pipe and restricted flow. Simply punching a hole through it might get the water moving temporarily, but it doesn’t solve the problem. That’s why we focus on clearing the line properly so the drain can function the way it’s supposed to.

Professional Equipment, Honest Diagnosis

We use professional equipment to remove grease, debris, and buildup safely without damaging your pipes. If the issue is more than a standard clog, we take the time to explain what’s going on and what your options are moving forward. Our goal is to leave you with a drain that’s not just working today, but one that isn’t going to cause the same frustration again next week.

For deeper grease buildup or recurring issues, we may recommend hydro jetting, which uses high-pressure water that cleans the inside surface of the pipe rather than punching through buildup. For multi-fixture symptoms or persistent problems, a sewer camera inspection shows exactly what’s happening further down the line.

Don't Wait For The Full Backup

Kitchen drains see more use than almost any other line in the home, which is why they’re one of the most common problem areas. If you’re noticing slow drainage, recurring clogs, or odors coming from your sink, it’s a sign the line needs attention. Taking care of it early can prevent bigger issues down the road and keep everything running the way it should.

Common signs the kitchen drain needs attention:

Standing water in the sink that drains slowly or not at all
Gurgling sounds when water is running
Sewer or food odors coming from the drain
Dishwasher backing up into the sink
Garbage disposal making noise but not draining
Recurring clogs in the same drain

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does kitchen drain cleaning cost?

Pricing depends on the specific issue and what the work involves, and we always quote on-site, never over the phone. Estimates are free within Onslow County (a service fee may apply in surrounding-county areas). We offer a 10% discount for seniors and a 10% discount for military. If we find something once we take a closer look, we'll talk it through with you before moving forward.

Recurring clogs usually point to grease buildup the previous clearing did not fully remove. A cable machine punches through grease but often leaves the pipe walls coated. The clog rebuilds. Hydro-jetting actually cleans the inside surface of the pipe, which is why we recommend it for kitchen drains with a history of recurring problems.

We don't recommend it. Drugstore drain cleaners are unreliable on actual grease and food clogs, and the chemistry damages pipes, fixtures, and seals over time. They also create a hazardous condition for whoever opens the trap next. Mechanical methods are safer and more effective.

Usually the disposal motor is working but the line below is blocked. Sometimes the disposal itself is jammed (a utensil dropped in). We diagnose where the actual problem is before recommending a disposal replacement, so a disposal doesn't get swapped unnecessarily when the line is the real issue.

Often yes. They share the drain line, and a clog in the shared section affects both. Sometimes the issue is at the dishwasher’s high-loop or air gap, which prevents proper drainage. We diagnose the actual cause on-site before quoting.

Don't pour grease down the drain. Pour it into a container, let it cool, and throw it in the trash. The "hot water + soap" technique most homeowners use just moves the grease further down the line where it cools and sticks anyway.

Properly diagnosed and cleared kitchen drains stay clear. If the issue does come back from the same cause within a reasonable window, we return and address it. Recurring problems usually mean we missed something on the initial call, and we own the follow-up.

Most kitchen drain clogs are cleared in under an hour once we are on site. Hydro-jetting calls or complex multi-fixture issues run longer. We include an expected duration in your on-site estimate.
